ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's lacrosse team came up short against the University of Dubuque (2-2 overall) Saturday afternoon on home turf, falling to the visiting Spartans by a final score of 16-7. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 2-5 on the season.

After UD jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, UNW's Talia Sherry (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) buried two goals for the Eagles to cut the visiting Spartans lead, 3-2. As the first half of play continued, Dubuque tacked on seven more goals to Northwestern's two to take a 10-4 advantage into the intermission break.

Playing through a hard-fought second half, UNW netted three more goals on the game, but it wasn't enough as UD sank six to secure a 16-7 victory over the home Eagles.
