DULUTH, Minn. – For the eighth consecutive year, the University of Northwestern men's basketball team (14-12) will play in the UMAC Tournament Championship. The Eagles went on the road and took down rival St. Scholastica (17-9), 69-65, Wednesday night to earn a date with Bethany Lutheran in Saturday's title game.
The Eagles got off to a hot start, building an early 10-3 lead before the Saints found their groove and built a 37-33 halftime lead. UNW rallied, putting together an 11-0 run late in the second half and held on for a 69-65 victory.
Caleb Hageman (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) drilled a long jumper with the shot clock running down and 12 seconds remaining in the second half to seal the game.

Anderson Bazile Jr. (Houston, Tex./San Antonio Reagan) drilled three 3-pointers en route to finishing with 13 points, while
Tanner Youngberg (Pocahontas, Iowa/Pocahontas Area) contributed 12 points and
Brady Bellefeuille (Frazee, Minn./Frazee) chipped in 11. Youngberg also pulled down nine boards.
UNW shot 45.3 percent from the floor, while committing just six turnovers. The Eagles rank second nationally in turnovers committed this season.
