RIPON, Wis. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season Saturday, defeating Ripon College by a score of 9-0. The win moves the team's record to 1-3 on the season.

Northwestern started off the day with some very dominate wins on the doubles side of play. The first doubles team of
Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) and
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) were very convincing in victory, winning 8-1.
The Eagles success continued into the singles portion of play, as they dropped a total of just seven games in the four matches played (two matches resulted in forfeits). Two Eagles players played perfect matches, as
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) at the one position and
Bridget Zappe () at the four position, both won their contests by a 6-0, 6-0 score.
