WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team dropped its match with St. Catherine University Friday night, 8-1. The Eagles fall to 0-3 on the year, while the Wildcats move to 2-0.

Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) picked up UNW's lone win at No. 2 singles, earning a hard-fought 6-1, 7-6 victory. Both
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) (No. 1 singles) and
Shawna Spears (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) (No. 5 singles) battled before losing the tiebreaker. At No. 2 doubles, Spears teamed up with
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) and had a strong showing before falling, 8-6.
