FULTON, MO – The University of Northwestern kicked-off in the team's final road game of the season at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium against Westminster College. In exciting overtime fashion, Northwestern sealed the win on a 16-yard field goal by Josiah Donat (Elk River, Minn./Washtenaw Christian Academy). This marks the Eagles fourth straight win over Westminster in head-to-head contests.

With the conference win, Northwestern improved to 4-5 overall, 4-3 in the UMAC to remain in fourth place in the standings. Westminster falls to 3-5 overall, 3-1 in conference play.

The Blue Jays were first to score on a six play, 53-yard drive to take a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.

Westminster answered back on an 18-yard field goal as the teams continued to battle for the lead.

The Eagles regained the advantage when running back Payton Bowdry (Minneapolis, Minn./South) threw a 44-yard pass to quarterback Damon Clapper (Dallas Center, Iowa/Dallas Center - Grimes). With Donat connecting on the PAT, the Eagles took back the lead at 14-10.

On the following drive, Felipe Ramirez (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) made a huge play for the Eagles, forcing a Westminster fumble and recovering it at the Blue Jays 17-yard line. The Northwestern momentum resulted in a 22-yard field goal by Josiah Donat (Elk River, Minn./Washtenaw Christian Academy) to give UNW a 17-10 lead.

The Blue Jays answered back, intercepting a Downey pass to put together a five play, 53-yard drive to tie things up at 17 apiece and force overtime play.

The back-and-forth battle continued to develop in extra minutes when Westminster found themselves at 1st and goal at the UNW 1-yard line. Jadon Hatt (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) forced the game-saving fumble, recovering it in the end zone to give the Eagles another chance.

Continuing his consistent kicking, Donat connected on his third field goal of the contest (from 16), giving the Eagles the exciting 20-17 overtime win.
