Women’s Soccer Ends in a Draw with the Cobbers

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team traveled to take on Concordia-Moorhead in a mid-week non-conference contest. The Eagles and Cobbers came to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of play. With the tie, Northwestern moves to 4-4-4 overall and remains in 4-1-1 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play.
 
The Cobber came out firing, scoring the first goal of the match less than 10 minutes into the opening frame. The Eagles were unable to net a goal, and Concordia held a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
 
In the second half, the Northwestern defense limited the Cobbers to a lone shot attempt. The Eagle defense held strong, without allowing another goal. Senior forward Emily Michaelson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) scored her second goal in consecutive games, with Linley Norman (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) assisting the goal.
 
In the overtime periods, Northwestern totaled two shots, while the Concordia posted three shots. Neither team was able to score another goal, resulting in the final 1-1 score.
