MANKATO, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team swept Bethany Lutheran Saturday, securing a 9-0 victory on the mid-day match. The Eagles then went on to notch a 9-0 triumph over Martin Luther, finishing off the day perfect. With the wins, the Eagles rise to 15-4 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) started the day off hot, defeating her opponent at No. 1 singles [6-0, 6-2] for the Eagles. Then,
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) [6-2, 6-0] and
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) [6-0, 6-2] overtook their contenders at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, while
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) grabbed two wins in her match [6-2, 6-2] at No. 4.
Rachel Lukkarila (Becker, Minn./Homeschool) [6-1, 6-0] and
Gracie LeBrun (Pine City, Minn./Pine City ) [6-1, 6-0] each collected wins in their competitions, respectively.
In doubles, Northwestern took care of business, capturing another three victories [8-1, 8-0, 9-7] over the home team.

In UNW's second matchup of the day, all six singles players recorded wins [6-2, 6-2 / 6-0, 6-1 / 6-2, 6-4 / 6-1, 6-0 / 6-4, 6-4 / 6-4, 6-4] over the MCL.
The Eagles went on to tab three more wins in doubles [8-1, 8-3, 8-3], finishing off the day with a sweep over the Knights.
