MANKATO, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team topped Bethany Lutheran Saturday afternoon, securing a 5-4 victory on the mid-day match. UNW then went on to secure a 6-3 win over Martin Luther, finishing off the day with two well-deserved victories. With the wins, the Eagles rise to 8-12 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) put together an outstanding performance, overtaking his opponent at No. 1 singles [6-3, 6-3].
Landon Ridpath (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech ) also had a strong showing, defeating his challenger in three sets [7-5, 4-6, 10-7], while
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) conquered his matches at No. 3 singles [6-2, 7-5].
In doubles play, Northwestern earned another two victories on the day, beating the home team by scores of 8-5 and 8-3, while the Vikings took the final frame [8-2].

In their next matchup, Lloyd and Kimball each topped their contenders with perfect scores [6-0, 6-0] at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, while Ridpath [6-1, 6-4] and
Sam Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) [6-3, 6-2] collected two wins apiece at No. 2 and No. 4.
In the doubles arena, the Eagles grabbed two more victories [8-0, 8-4], while the Knights secured one [8-1].
