ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team struggled to keep up with Concordia College Friday in its home opener, finishing with a 9-0 loss on the afternoon match.
 
Despite the windy conditions on UNW's courts, the Cobbers were able to overcome the Eagle in each of their doubles matches [9-7, 8-2, 8-3].
 
In singles, Sam Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) was able to withstand his opponent for a few points, but his match resulted in a 6-1/6-4 defeat. Other Northwestern players faced difficult roads, resulting in their losses to Concordia.
 
The Eagles will carry their competition over to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato on Saturday, April 8. The contest is set to get underway at 10 a.m., followed by a 3:30 p.m. meet at Martin Luther College in New Ulm.
