ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern women's lacrosse team (10-4) suffered a 16-5 loss to visiting Augsburg College (10-4) Thursday night at Reynolds Field.
After the Auggies took an 11-2 lead into the locker room, the Eagles battled back in the second frame, allowing just five goals in the second half, while netting three of their own.
Eugenia Chamberlain (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) shined for the Eagles, as not only did she score a pair of goals, she also notched her 100th career groundball. She finished the night with eight groundballs and six caused turnovers.
Kesenya Havlicek (New Prague, Minn./New Prague),
Hannah Shands (Hugo, Minn./Mahtomedi) and
Talia Sherry (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) all found the back of the net for UNW.
Sydney Werlein (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) made 14 saves from her goalkeeper position.
