Men's Tennis Falls To CSS

DULUTH, MINN.– The University of Northwestern men's tennis team gave its best efforts Saturday, as they battled in a hard-fought contest at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. UNW dropped the match, 9-0, to CSS. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 5-11 on the season.

In the afternoon match-up of the day, the Eagles contended with the best of their abilities, but it wasn't enough, as UNW was swept on the mid-day competition.

The Saints went untouchable by Northwestern in doubles play, snagging six wins over the Eagles [7-5/6-2, 6-2/6-3, 6-1/6-0, 6-0/6-0, 6-0/6-1, 6/3-6/4], while all three of UNW's doubles pairings were topped by the Saints with scores of 8-2, 8-2, and 8-0.

The purple and gold will compete next against the University of Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday, April 4. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. For more information on the men's tennis team, fans can visit www.unweagles.com.
