MADISON, Wis. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team improved to 8-2 on the season with a pair of wins Saturday. The Eagles defeated Carroll, 8-1, and Concordia University-Wisconsin, 7-2.
UNW 8, CU 1
The Eagles got things started with a sweep in doubles play, as all three UNW teams cruised to victories. In singles play,
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) won in straight-sets at No. 5 singles, while
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) remained unbeaten on the season at No. 1 singles.
UNW 7, CUW 2
UNW once again controlled the match with a sweep in doubles, before
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ),
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen),
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) and
Rachel Lukkarila (Becker, Minn./Homeschool) all earned wins in singles competition.
