WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team opened Saturday's doubleheader with an 8-1 win over Simpson College before dropping a tight 5-4 contest with Central College in the nightcap.

The Eagles dominated Simpson, starting the match with a sweep in doubles play and then rolled in singles play to pick up an 8-1 victory.
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) notched a straight-sets win at No. 3 singles, while
CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View),
Cameron Fair (Sterling, Kan./Sterling),
Sam Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) and
Turner Main (Kewaunee, Wis./Kewaunee) all secured wins in singles action.

CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) cruised at No. 1 singles, while
Landon Ridpath (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech ) (No. 2 singles) and
Sam Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) (No. 5) both won tight contests in singles play. Lloyd and Ridpath then teamed up at No. 1 doubles to earn an 8-3 win.
