UNW to Host Minnesota Morris for Football Frenzy

ST. PAUL – The 2-0 University of Northwestern football team will welcome the University of Minnesota Morris for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) showdown Saturday night. The contest will also highlight the annual Football Frenzy event on campus. Football Frenzy brings hundreds of prospective students and their families to campus for a visit and campus tour – capped off by taking in some UNW football. Kickoff at Reynolds Field is set for 7 p.m.

THE NORTHWESTERN FILE
The Eagles enter Saturday's matchup a perfect 2-0 after most recently defeating Crown College last weekend 21-0 in St. Bonifacius. In UNW's two wins this season, the Eagles have not given up a score.

A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT
After a week one bye, Minnesota Morris opened its season with a UMAC victory over Greenville last Saturday in Morris. The Cougars were tabbed to finish eighth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. UMM led the entire game en route to picking up a 33-28 season-opening win over the Panthers. Linebacker Clayton Douvier was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting 18 tackles, including three tackles for loss.

FOOTBALL FRENZY
Saturday's excitement will be highlighted by Football Frenzy on campus at UNW. The annual event brings hundreds of prospective students and their families to campus and allows them the opportunity to win scholarships during the halftime festivities.

DOMINANT DEFENSE
The storyline of 2016 has been UNW's stout defense. The Eagles are one of four teams in the country (Division III) to have held opponents scoreless this season.
