Box Score ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team sealed a 5-0 victory in its Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener against North Central on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Eagles advance to 2-0-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference.

Anna Martinson (Apple Valley, Minn./Homeschool) kicked off the afternoon for the Eagles, as she was able to net the first goal of the game to give Northwestern an early 1-0 lead. Shortly following Martinson's goal, teammate
Haley Wheeler (Elgin, Minn./Plainville-Elgin-Millville) dropped one to stretch UNW's lead to 2-0 to conclude the half. Martin and Wheeler both marked their first goals on the season as they wrapped up the afternoon contest.
The second period was a tough battle for both teams. Though the Rams were able to hold the Eagles to a scoreless half up until the last four minutes of play, UNW's
Emily Daubenmier (Kijabe, KE./Rift Valley Academy),
Linley Norman (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake), and
Emma Martin (Anoka, Minn./Homeschool) were able to slate a goal to push Northwestern to a final 5-0 victory over UNC. Due to their efforts, Daubenmier and Martin both tabbed their first goals on the season.
Northwestern concluded the match with 15 total shots, nine SOG, five goals, and two earned assists by
Jordan Lubben (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo ) and
Kimi Lindsay (Rosemount, Minn./Apple Valley).
The women will travel to Duluth for their next contest on Saturday, September 17
