MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team bounced back from two losses earlier in the season to the College of St. Scholastica, as the Eagles downed the Saints, 6-3, in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Championship Saturday at the Baseline Tennis Center.

With the victory, the Eagles better their already historic season record to 23-6 and notch their third-straight UMAC Tournament title.
UNW set the tone early, sweeping the three doubles matches by scores of 8-6.
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) and
Jessica Henke (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) teamed up at No. 1 doubles, while it was
Tina Matetich (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) at No. 2 doubles and
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) and
Rachel Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) played at No.3 doubles.
The Eagles carried their momentum from doubles play over to singles, as
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) rolled at No. 1 singles, winning by scores of 6-0, 6-1.
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) grabbed a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles and senior
Rachel Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) won a thrilling contest via tiebreaker (10-7) over CSS's Katelyn Rice at No. 6 singles to account for UNW's three wins in singles action.
