MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team dropped Saturday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Championship to the College of St. Scholastica at the Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The Saints prevailed 9-0 in the title contest. With the conclusion of Saturday's match, the successful 2016 season comes to an end for the Eagles.

Freshman
Derek Williams (Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River) put up a strong fight at No. 4 singles, but fell in the tiebreaker.
Cameron Fair (Sterling, Kan./Sterling) also battled at No. 6 singles, dropping his sets 6-4, 6-4.
Brett Jacobus (Lakeville, Minn. /Lakeville North) grabbed a combined six sets off of his opponent at No. 2 singles.
In doubles play,
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) and
Cameron Fair (Sterling, Kan./Sterling) paired up at No. 3 doubles and came up just short, 8-6, challenging the Saints duo throughout the entire match.
CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) and
Brett Jacobus (Lakeville, Minn. /Lakeville North) competed at No. 1 doubles, but lost by a final of 8-4.
