ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team battled the College of St. Scholastica Saturday with the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title on the line. The Eagles fell to the visiting Saints, 6-3, to close out the regular season.

Tina Matetich (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing)'s win at No. 3 singles gave her 100 career wins in combined singles and doubles play.
UNW picked up a point in doubles play, as
Rachel Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) and
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) paired up for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles for the Eagles.
In singles play,
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) (No. 1 singles) and
Tina Matetich (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) (No. 3 singles) secured wins. Moe defeated Jessica Solberg 6-3, 6-0, while Matetich pulled off a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) battled at No. 4 singles, falling 6-4 and 7-5.
UNW will be the No. 2 seed heading into next weekend's UMAC Tournament. The two-day event will take place at the Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota
