NEW ULM, Minn. – The Eagles' men's tennis team bested the Knights of Martin Luther College for the second time in 10 days. UNW took the match 8-1, completing the season sweep of yet another Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponent.

The Purple and Gold started with a fire, sweeping the singles matchups.
CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) got the usual victory in No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-1). In No. 2 singles play,
Brett Jacobus (Lakeville, Minn. /Lakeville North) grabbed another win for the Eagles (6-2, 6-0) to keep things rolling.
Landon Ridpath (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech ) took the No. 3 singles match (6-1, 6-0) with near perfection, dropping just one game. Reigning UMAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Derek Williams (Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River) grabbed No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-4).
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) wrapped up No. 5 singles quickly (6-1, 6-1), while
Cameron Fair (Sterling, Kan./Sterling) stretched No. 6 singles to the limit (6-3, 4-6, 1-0 [10-8]) before sealing off the final victory.
In doubles play, UNW earned two more victories. Lloyd and teammate Jacobus presented perfection in No. 1 doubles (8-0). Ridpath and Williams took care of No. 2 doubles (8-4). Only No. 3 doubles went to the Knights, as Kimball and Fair dropped the contest (8-5).
The Eagles are headed to Bethany Lutheran College on Thursday, April 28, for the last away match of the regular season. UNW will be back home on Saturday, April 30, taking on the College of St. Scholastica, as the Eagles seek to avenge their lone conference loss this season.
