MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern hit the road Thursday, with the women's tennis team taking on the University of Minnesota Morris in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. The Eagles took care of business, wrapping a perfect match against the Cougars (9-0).

The scores started rolling in singles play, with all six Eagles winning quickly.
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) lost just one game in No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0), taking the match for UNW.
Jessica Henke (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) played No. 2 singles, getting win number two for Northwestern (6-3, 6-3).
Tina Matetich (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) snagged the victories in No. 3 (6-2, 6-1) and No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-0), respectively. In No. 5 singles,
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) swept the match (6-0, 6-0), while
Nikki Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) had a clean sheet (6-0, 6-0) in No. 6 singles.
Northwestern kept rolling in doubles play, with only one matchup losing even a single game. Moe and Lapinski managed the victory in No. 1 doubles (8-4). Partners Matetich and Henke swept No. 2 doubles (8-0). Knight teamed up with Edin in No. 3 doubles to mirror the perfection (8-0) and close of the flawless day for the Purple and Gold.
UNW will get a chance to replicate the success against Morris on Saturday, April 23, as the Eagles host the Cougars in a morning contest. The lights will be on at the Johnson Courts at Reynolds Field later that evening, as Northwestern competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) regional tournament against Judson University at 7:30 p.m.
