SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team picked up its second win of the season, as the Eagles defeated the College of Saint Benedict, 6-3, Saturday night inside the Public Indoor Tennis complex.
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) got things started at No. 1 singles, as Moe picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Birdie Bardwell (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) (No. 4 singles) secured UNW's third win with a 6-2, 6-0 win, while
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) (No. 5 singles) was a 6-4, 4-6 (14-12) winner.
Rachel Bostrom (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
In doubles action, Moe and
Jessica Henke (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles (8-6), while Lapinski and Bostrom were 8-1 winners at No. 3 doubles to help the Eagles win two of the three doubles matches.
