ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over St. Norbert College (16-15) in the opening round of the NCAA Division III St. Paul Regional Thursday night inside the Ericksen Center. The Eagles – who picked up their school-record 31st win in the process – won by set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Northwestern was dominant out of the gates, not showing any jitters on its home court, as the Eagles picked up a 25-13 win the opening set and carried that momentum all the way through.
UNW hit an impressive .300 on the night, while SNC was held to a .018 hitting percentage.
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) floored a handful of monster kills en route to posting a match-high 14 kills. She notched a double-double with her 10-dig effort.
Leesa Hulstrand (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) posted 18 assists to jumpstart the offense. On the defensive front,
Jackie Doering (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) racked up 12 digs to lead all players and
Toria Gillson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Christian),
Shanay Gonder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) and
Leesa Hulstrand (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) all tallied three blocks.
