ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team (5-3) faced off in a non-conference match against Concordia College (Minn.) Monday evening. Though the Eagles gave a great effort, the Cobbers managed to grab hold of a 4-0 win to conclude the game.
To open the first period, UNW struggled to find their groove as CC knocked in the first goal nineteen seconds into the game to boost a 1-0 lead. The Cobbers then went on to sink their second at the 11' mark to make it a 2-0 ballgame. UNW defense stood their ground, as they were able to hold off Concordia from scoring any more as the first half came to a close.
Taking the field in the second, Northwestern came out with more energy and determination, but it wasn't enough for the Cobber strong attack. As CC posted two more goals earlier on in the second to secure a 4-0 victory, the Eagles fought until the very end.
Northwestern will host North Central on Wednesday, October 5
th, at Reynolds Field for a 2 p.m. contest. Fans can visit unweagles.com for more information.
