JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team (6-5, 4-3 UMAC) competed in a road contest against the University of Jamestown on Tuesday evening. The battle was won by the Jimmies, who were able to finalize a 4-0 win on the night's competition.
Setting the tone, UJ got on the board early as they netted two goals within the opening ten minutes of play. UNW tried their best to withstand the pressure, but Jamestown managed to score again at the 28:00 mark to boost a 3-0 halftime lead over Northwestern.
At the close of the period, the offensive rhythm was in the Jimmies favor as they noted 11S and 8SOG to the Eagles 2S and 1SOG.
Opening up the second period, UNW took the field with a stronger attack to face UJ. Though Eagle defense performed to the best of their abilities, the team was not able to hold back Jamestown as they netted their fourth and final goal with 20:00 left on the clock to secure a 4-0 victory.
Concluding the match, Northwestern recorded six shots and 4SOG overall.
The Eagles will return home for their next contest on Thursday, October 13
