ST. PAUL – Hamline scored twice in the first 45 minutes of play and added another goal in the second half to defeat the University of Northwestern women's soccer team, 3-0, Tuesday night in a non-conference battle at Reynolds Field. The loss snapped UNW's three-game winning streak.
Aubrey Stenson score a pair of goals and Jensen Sevening added a score to lead the Pipers past the Eagles.
Allie Franzen (Andover, Minn./Legacy Christian ), who was the hero in UNW's win over St. Scholastica, put a shot on goal, while
Jordan Skarin (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo ) and
Sally Keckeisen (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) added a shot each to pace the Northwestern offense.
Samantha Dewey (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) made some impressive saves in goal, as the first-year goalkeeper tallied nine on the night.
The Eagles will travel to New Ulm to take on Martin Luther in a conference contest on Saturday. Kickoff in New Ulm is slated for 4:15 p.m.
