ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team blanked visiting North Central 1-0 in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) contest Tuesday night at Reynolds Field.
The lone score of the night came 12 minutes into the game, as
Jordan Skarin (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo ) scored for the second time in as many days.
Brynn Denniston (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) assisted Skarin on her second goal of the season.
Josie Monson (Albertville, Minn./Homeschool) tallied three saves en route to picking up her first shutout of the season.
Anna Martinson (Apple Valley, Minn./Homeschool) deflected a North Central shot on goal late in the game to help secure the shutout.
Northwestern limited the Rams to just six shot attempts, while the Eagles posted 22, with six of those coming from Skarin and five from
Megan Larsen (Appleton, Wis./Appleton East). Skarin and Denniston put three shots on goal, while
Katie Meinke (Victoria, Minn./Southwest Christian),
Emily Goeppinger (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) and Larsen all put one on target.
The Eagles will host St. Scholastica in a UMAC contest Saturday at 4:15 p.m.
