SARTELL, Minn. – Coming off a week-long spring break trip to the Tampa, Florida area that saw the University of Northwestern play six matches in outdoor weather, the Eagles returned to the friendly confines of indoor courts on Saturday in an 8-1 loss to Saint John's University.
Brett Jacobus (Lakeville, Minn. /Lakeville North) was UNW's lone winner on the day in his No. 2 singles match.

Tanner Magruder (Altoona, Wis./Altoona) and
Turner Main (Kewaunee, Wis./Kewaunee) teamed up for UNW's No. 3 pair that took three games off of the Johnnies.
Jacobus beat his opponent, Tim Larson, 7-6 in their first set before Larson retired for the day, handing UNW the win at No. 2 singles.
CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) was on the losing end of a 6-1, 6-3 score to Saint John's' Jack Hansen, while Northwestern's
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) fell to Andrew Nagel, 6-1 and 6-2.
Cole Grasto (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake) was the last Eagle to get a full two sets in at No. 4 singles before Magruder and Main were forced to play eight-game pro sets in their Nos. 5 and 6 matches due to time constraints.
Now 3-8 overall, Northwestern will return to the practice court for a week before resuming its Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) schedule on Saturday, March 28 against the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. That 3:30 p.m. match is scheduled to take place at Arrowhead Tennis Center.
