UNW Hosts Eureka in Regular Season Finale

ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern football team will welcome Eureka College Saturday in the regular season finale for both squads. Kickoff at Reynolds Field is set for 12 noon.

THE NORTHWESTERN FILE
The Eagles enter Saturday's contest with a 7-2 overall record and 7-1 record in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. The Eagles will finish the year with a winning record for the 14th time in the last 16 years. Under Coach Talley's watch the last 15 seasons, the Eagles have had just one season in which they finished under the .500 mark.

LAST TIME OUT
UNW's defense stopped Greenville's two-point conversion attempt with 1:48 remaining in the game to escape the Land of Lincoln with a 21-19 win last week in Greenville, Ill. It was the first time in program history the Eagles have won in Greenville.

A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT
Eureka comes into the weekend 5-4 and winners of its last three contests. The Red Devils came out on top, 10-7, in a defensive battle last Saturday at Minnesota Morris. Running back LeAnthony Reasnover highlights the Eureka offense, as the freshman has racked up 876 yards on the ground this fall. He ranks third in the UMAC with his average of 97 rushing yards per game. Chris Friend leads the defense, as the linebacker has been in on 82 stops on the year.

SENIOR DAY
UNW will honor its seniors prior to kickoff Saturday at Reynolds Field. Coach Talley and his staff would like to thank this group for all of their hard work and dedication to the University of Northwestern football program over the course of the last four years.

UMAC SPOTLIGHT
Junior Ben Greener (Foley, Minn./Home School) had a day against the Panthers last Saturday, as the linebacker was in on a season-high 17 tackles. Greener has recorded half of a sack and a pass breakup. He was honored as the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Greenville. It was the third consecutive week he has reached double-digit tackle totals. Greener leads the Eagles defense with 89 tackles this fall.
