Duluth, Minn. – The University of Northwestern volleyball team swept the College of St. Scholastica Saturday to remain perfect in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. The Eagles won by set scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 28-16. With the victory, UNW has now won 16 of its last 17 matches.
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) posted a double-double, flooring a match-high 14 kills, while tallying 17 digs.
Shanay Gonder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) turned in a strong performance, racking up 13 kills and a .450 hitting percentage.
Jackie Foster (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) led all players with 22 digs and
Kaelyn Kilbo (Delano, Minn./Delano) added 27 assists to lead the Eagles. Kilbo also posted three service aces. UNW held a 6-2 advantage at the net in blocks category with
Leesa Hulstrand (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) contributing three of those.
Faith Vander Galien (Chanhassen, Minn./Southwest Christian) added eight kills (.300 hitting percentage), while
Lydia Palkert (Excelsior, Minn./Southwest Christian) hit .389.
Northwestern will host Minnesota Morris Wednesday night. First serve in the Ericksen Center is slated for 7 p.m.
