Morris’s four goals lifts Cougars past Northwestern

Box Score

ST. PAUL— In their first road trip of the season, the University of Northwestern fell 4-0 to the University of Minnesota Morris. Without many opportunities to score, the Eagles struggled to keep up with the Cougars Friday afternoon.

Emma LaChance scored the first two goals for Morris in the first 15 minutes of play. The Cougars' Carly Denler then scored an insurance goal for her team just before halftime.

The second period didn't heat up for the Eagles like they'd hoped, allowing an additional goal from Molly Hancuh, who tallied two assists in the first half. Jordan Skari had UNW's only shot on goal while the Eagles were out-shot 18-3.

Northwestern (1-6 overall, 1-2 UMAC) will play at Martin Luther College tomorrow at 2:15 p.m in pursuit of their second victory of the season and will host Crown College and Bethany Lutheran College next weekend at Reynolds Field.
