Women's soccer falls short in game against Hamline

Box Score

ST. PAUL— Unable to execute offensively, the University of Northwestern fell to Hamline University in a 3-0 loss.

Within the first 13 minutes, the Pipers scored two goals against the Eagles. However, the Pipers couldn't add any additional goals in the first half. Northwestern struggled to execute as the home team fended off the Eagle offense and limited them to zero shots on goal in the first half.

The second half was another quiet 45 minutes for the Purple and Gold, adding only one shot on goal. The home team made their final goal in the 67th minute off of a penalty kick. On a positive note, Miranda Carda (Andover, Minn./Andover) saved 13 in the net for the Eagles. Carda earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Defensive Player of the Week this week for her .850 save percentage in Northwestern's last contest.

The Eagles will hit the road this weekend to continue UMAC conference play as they take on the University of Minnesota Morris on Friday at 2 p.m. and Martin Luther College on Saturday at 12 p.m.
