Bethany Lutheran wins 4-2 over the Eagles

Box Score

MANKATO, Minn.— The University of Northwestern was outscored by Bethany Lutheran College 4-2 Saturday afternoon.

Anna Rouse was the first to put in a goal in the 10th minute of play. With 20 minutes of inactivity, a goal was made off of a Bethany Lutheran defender, putting the Eagles on the board because of the home team's error. Bethany racked two additional goals by Julia Putz and Bridget Hennen with minutes. However, freshman Rachel Walmsley (Lino Lakes, Minn./Homeschool) knocked her first career goal in to put the Eagles back in the game, assisted by Allie Franzen (Andover, Minn./Legacy Christian ) in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, Bridget Hennen added her second goal of the afternoon 23 minutes left on the clock but it wasn't enough to bring the Eagles out of the trench, losing 4-2 to the Vikings.

BLC outscored UNW 14-8 for the afternoon and goalkeeper Megan Zeller took the win for the Vikings with six saves.
The Eagles (2-8, 2-4 UMAC) will play at North Central on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. before playing them again as they host North Central Saturday night under the lights for homecoming weekend.
