ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer secured the 2-1 win over Crown College Friday night.

With an uneventful first half on both ends of the field, Northwestern and Crown remained scoreless going into halftime. First to add a point to the board was Eagle's Jordan Skarin (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo ), who knocked one in at the 62nd minute, assisted by freshman Rachel Walmsley (Lino Lakes, Minn./Homeschool). Only one minute later would Crown's Megan Wright respond with a goal, tying the teams up once again. Sarah Scinto (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) secured the win for the Eagles scoring the last goal of the night with 15 minutes left on the clock. With one game-winning goal each year of her career, that goal marks Scinto's fourth.

Defensively, Carda tallied five saves of the night in the Purple and Gold's goal. The Eagles out-shot the Storm 14-9.

Northwestern (2-7 overall, 2-3 UMAC) will play again tomorrow night at Bethany Lutheran College at 3 p.m. and again on Thursday against North Central University at 1 p.m. before hosting a set of games next weekend at Reynolds Field for Homecoming.
