ASHLAND, Wis. – The University of Northwestern women's golf team picked up its second team victory in as many meets as the Eagles bested Bethany Lutheran College and Northland College in the LumberJills' inaugural invitational. UNW's top score of 411 was 17 strokes better than Bethany Lutheran and 140 shots under Northland.

Playing in her first collegiate meet as a dual sport athlete, Northwestern's
Natasha Meed (Paynesville, Minn./Paynesville Area) won medalist honors with her top score of 90, 18 strokes over par at the 5,804, par 72 Chequamegon Bay Golf Club. The Eagles'
Naomi Black (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) was right behind her teammate, carding a 95 to help UNW's cause.
Laura Gaffney (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway) scored a 107 for Northwestern, while
Barbara Murray (Chisago City, Minn./Chisago Lakes) rounded out the Eagles' team submission with a 119.
After having won last week's Viking Invitational and Thursday's Northland Invitational, UNW will be looking for its third straight victory next Monday, September 16 in its home event at Gross National Golf Club in Minneapolis. Monday's tee times are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
