STILLWATER, Minn. – A day after carding a team score of 379 at Gross National Golf Club in Minneapolis, the University of Northwestern women's golf squad didn't fare so well against the warm weather and strong winds at Sawmill Golf Club, submitting a 437 in the Bethel University Triangular on Saturday. The Eagles' score was slotted third behind Bethel's 344 and Augsburg College's 381.

Sarah Poppema (Embarrass, Minn./Babbitt Embarrass/Vermillion Comm. College) submitted the best card for the Eagles with a 24-over-par score of 96. Similar to Friday's results, Poppema's teammate in Naomi Black (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) was close behind at 99, staying below the 100-stroke line. Samantha Davis (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) carded a 118 for UNW, while Taylor Trout (Manteca, Calif. /Manteca) rounded out the four-player team submission with a 124.

Next up for Northwestern is the UMAC Preview Tournament at The Jewel in Lake City, Minn. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Even though the Eagles compete as an associate member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), they will join the UNW men's team, which competes in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
