MANKATO, Minn. – The Northwestern College men's tennis team regained some stamina in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) race as the Eagles swept Bethany Lutheran College 9-0 for the second time in eight days. Four of Northwestern's singles players earned straight 6-0, 6-0 sweeps while NWC didn't lose a game in doubles action.

Following a complete 8-0 sweep in all three doubles matches, Northwestern continued its barrage of the Vikings in singles play.
David Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) was up on Bethany Lutheran's Ryan Koch 6-1 before Koch withdrew in the No. 1 singles match. Then started the slew of 6-0, 6-0 sweeps as the Eagles'
Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River),
Agassi Mila (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids),
Jimmy Ekman (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) and
Levi Busse (Amery, Wis./Amery) all claimed wins. Blancke's win at the No. 2 singles spot was special, as his 6-0, 6-0 win against Bethany Lutheran's Brett Padfield was the senior's 100th career victory when singles and doubles matches are combined.
Coleton Grasto finished the team sweep for Northwestern as the freshman posted a 6-2, 6-1 win against Paul Riediger.
The win boosts the Eagles' season record to 6-9 and the Purple and Gold's UMAC mark to 2-1. Next up for Northwestern is a home match this coming Thursday, April 4 against the University of Minnesota Morris at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley. That match is scheduled to begin at 12 Noon.
