FRIDLEY, Minn. – The Northwestern College men's tennis team evened its season record at 9-9 with a 9-0 sweep of North Central University on Monday afternoon at Lifetime Fitness. The Eagles survived the three doubles matches before navigating their way through singles play with relative ease.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of
David Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) and
Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) started things off with an 8-5 victory over North Central's Fabian Tunberg and Ian Bird.
Agassi Mila (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) and
Jimmy Ekman (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) followed suit at No. 2 doubles as they beat Shane Christensen and Sutton Rehwaldt 8-2. Philip Guidm and
Levi Busse (Amery, Wis./Amery) matched Mila and Ekman's score as they defeated Brent Peters and Adam Chant 8-2.
In singles play, Knight and Busse each earned 6-0, 6-0 sweeps of their opponents. Knight's victory came against Tunberg at No. 1, while Busse's sweep was versus Brent Peters at the No. 6 position. Northwestern's
Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) yielded just one game in his No. 2 victory over Bird, which came in 6-1, 6-0 fashion.
Northwestern will be in action again in 24 hours as the Eagles hit the road on Tuesday afternoon. Martin Luther College awaits NWC for a 3 p.m. match in New Ulm, Minn.
