Men's Tennis coasts to 9-0 win over North Central

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Northwestern College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over North Central University in the Eagles' first UMAC contest on Monday evening. Heading into singles action with a 3-0 lead, Northwestern swept all six singles matches in 6-0, 6-0 fashion at the Baseline Tennis Center.

The Eagles' Nos. 1 and 2 doubles teams both claimed 8-2 victories before the pairing of Agassi Mila (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) and Philip Gudim (Becker, Minn./Home School) defeated North Central's Jordan Valley and Adam Chant 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

At 4-7 overall and 1-0 in UMAC play, the Eagles will host their most hyped match of the season on Thursday, March 29 against the College of St. Scholastica. Northwestern, who won the 2011 UMAC Tournament, and the Saints, winners of the last 15 regular season conference titles, will start at 3:30 p.m. at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley, Minn.
