OWATONNA, Minn. – Northwestern College dropped an 8-1 match to St. Olaf College on Friday night as the Eagles fell to 1-3 on the 2012 season.

NWC's No. 1 singles player David Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) was the lone Eagle to record a victory at the Owatonna Tennis Center as he beat the Oles top individual in Kaute Gunderson 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).  Caleb Kauss (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) put up a fight in his No. 2 singles match, but ultimately fell to John Wight 7-5, 6-1.

Knight and Kauss's No. 1 doubles match came down to the wire, but the combo couldn't finish in an 8-7 loss to Wight and Andy Catania to start the night.

Northwestern will now look ahead to its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. that will see the Eagles play five matches.
