Eagle women come back to beat Bethany Lutheran

MANKATO, Minn. -- Northwestern College won its second consecutive match on Thursday night with a 6-3 victory over Bethany Lutheran College. With the win, the Eagles improve to 4-2 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action.

NWC had to recover after winning just one of the three doubles matches and that they did, winning five singles contests. Amy Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) started the charge at No. 1 singles, beating Rebecca Kopacek 6-4, 6-4. Victoria Viggers (Norwalk, Iowa/Norwalk) (Norwalk, Iowa/Norwalk) won her No. 3 single s match 6-1, 6-0, while Leah Hogle (Grundy Center, Iowa/Grundy-Center) (Eldora, Iowa/Eldora) defeated Marta Faugstad 6-0, 6-0.

Northwestern will take their current winning streak into next week when the Eagles host Martin Luther College on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley, Minn. That match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
