MINNEAPOLIS -- The Northwestern College men's tennis team improved to 3-1 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action on Tuesday with a convincing 9-0 win over North Central University.

Two of the three Eagles doubles teams won in 8-1 fashion, while the No. 1 doubles team of Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) and Caleb Kauss (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) defeated Taylor Jarmon and Dakota Frazier 8-4.  In singles play, all six of Northwestern's players swept through their competition from North Central rather quickly.  Jimmy Ekman (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) had the best day at No. 6 singles, handing Mike Svoboda a 6-0, 6-0 loss.

Northwestern, now 3-10 overall, will take a day off before hitting the road again on Thursday to face Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota.  That match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
