FRIDLEY, Minn. – The Northwestern men's tennis team met their match this past weekend when they took on St. Scholastica. The Eagles fell 7-2 to the Saints this past Saturday at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley, Minn.

With what seemed to be ease, David Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge), Northwestern's No. 2 singles player and Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Northwestern's No. 3 singles player, both defeated their opponents. Knight won 6-1, 6-2 and Blanke 6-2, 6-4. Northwestern's No. 4 singles player, Josh Nelson (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial), came close to sealing the deal, but fell in the second match losing 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

In doubles play, Northwestern's No. 2 doubles team, Blancke and Nelson, almost secured the win against their opponents but ultimately fell to Cullen Combs and Tucker Combs, 9-7. Both Northwestern's No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams were defeated 8-4 by their rivals.

Now 2-10, the Eagles will give it their all against North Central University this Tuesday, April 12th at 3 p.m. in Minneapolis.
