BLOOMINGTON – The Northwestern men's tennis team secured their first win of the season after defeating Bethany Lutheran College, 9-0 this past Thursday at the Lifetime Fitness Center in Bloomington.
The Eagles won all six singles matches against Bethany Lutheran 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles,
David Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) and
Keagan Blancke (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) defeated their opponents 8-1. Behind them,
Caleb Kauss (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and
Josh Nelson (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) at No. 2 doubles, and
Erik Starr (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) and
Josh Fread (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) at No. 3 doubles, beat their Viking opponents 8-0, 8-1 respectively.
The Eagles, now 1-9, hope to start a winning streak as they face the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars next week Tuesday, April 5th at the Fridley Lifetime Fitness Center at 3 p.m.
