DULUTH, Minn. -- The Northwestern College men's basketball team shot 77 percent in the first half to outscore the College of St. Scholastica 48-14 in the first half before coasting to a 81-58 victory on Friday evening.  With the win, the Eagles improved to 14-6 overall and 8-1 in UMAC action while extending their current streak to seven straight victories.

NWC started the game on a 20-4 run while making its initial six three-point attempts to set the tone early.  After the lopsided halftime score, the Eagles never let the Saints back into the game.

Brett Tester and Justin Perato led St. Scholastica (8-12, 5-4 UMAC) with nine points apiece.  The Saints finished the game with a 37 percent shooting mark.

The Eagles will follow the south shore of Lake Superior for their 5 p.m. game at Northland College on Saturday.  NWC remains in first place in the conference standings, but only by a game with the University of Minnesota, Morris lingering with a 7-2 UMAC record.
