Men's Tennis wins third straight match

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Northwestern College men's tennis team has won three straight UMAC matches after defeating North Central University 9-0 at the Baseline Tennis Center on Tuesday evening. The Eagles didn't need an extended amount of time to polish the Rams off, which was evidenced by four NWC sweeps.

All three of Northwestern's doubles teams won in 8-0 fashion, paving the way for a rout in singles play. After teaming up with Jeremiah Schneck (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) to best Josiah Tonder and Corey Kalinowski in their doubles match, the Eagles' Keagen Blancke took care of Tonder 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match. Schneck routed Kalinowski in No. 2 doubles 6-2, 6-0 and Josh Fread (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) handled Mike Svoboda 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Northwestern, who is now 4-10 overall and 3-1 in UMAC competition, will play three matches in the next four days. First on the Eagles' list will be St. Mary's University (Minn.) on Wednesday, April 14 at Mounds View High School. That match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
