Women's Soccer drops 2-0 contest to Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Northwestern College women's soccer team couldn't muster a win as the Eagles battled the Bethel University Royals for a Labor Day special. Bethel would prove to outscore the Eagles 2-0 to bring Northwestern's record to 0-2 on the season.

The game was a lopsided battle, as Bethel tallied 31 shots compared to NWC's 11. In the end, it was Brittany Griffore and Lydia Bergeson's goals for the Royals that would tell the difference.

For the Eagles, senior Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) fended off 18 shot attempts by Bethel.

NWC will attempt to achieve its first win of the 2009 season when the Eagles welcome the College of St. Scholastica to Reynolds Field for their first UMAC contest of the 2009 season.
