Eagles sweep Knights

FRIDLEY, Minn.
—The Northwestern College (3-6 overall, 2-1 UMAC) women's tennis team won its second conference match as they swept Martin Luther College (2-1 overall, 2-1 UMAC), 9-0.

None of the Eagles allowed their counterparts to take any more than 2 games per set, while No. 2 and No. 3 singles Rebecca Leland (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central) (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central High School) and Johanna Alex (San Pedro, Calif./Homeschool) (Crete, Greece/Homeschool) each displayed a perfect 6-0, 6-0 performance. No. 1 singles Wendy Miller (Roseville, MN/Saint Joseph High School) (Roseville, Minn./Saint Joseph High School) only gave up one game, as she won in 6-1, 6-0 fashion.

No. 1 doubles partners Miller and Alex allowed their opponent to take one game, finishing with a 8-1 win while No. 2 partners Leland and Smith gave up none.
