Women's Tennis sweeps North Central

MINNEAPOLIS—
The Northwestern College women's tennis team posted its third win and second 9-0 sweep on the season against North Central University.

No. 1 singles Wendy Miller (Roseville, MN/Saint Joseph High School) (Roseville, Minn./Saint Joseph High School) only gave up two games, winning 6-1, 6-1 while No. 3 Johanna Alex (San Pedro, Calif./Homeschool) (Crete, Greece/Homeschool) only gave up one game in her victory. The Eagles recorded three perfect 6-0, 6-0 performances, one of which was No. 2 Rebecca Leland (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central) (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central High School).

Double's play looked similar as Northwestern's No. 1 partners Miller and Leland along with No. 2 Alex and Dana Smith (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka High School) swept their opponents in 8-0 fashion while No. 3 only gave up two games, winning 8-2.

 Northwestern, now tied at second with Martin Luther in conference, will head to Morris, Minn. on April 14 to continue conference play against the University of Minnesota-Morris at 3 p.m.
