UW- River Falls hands Eagles 2-7 defeat

FRIDLEY, Minn.—
After taking its second win of the season, the Northwestern College women's tennis team fell to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2-7.

All of the Eagles were able to take at least one game from their counterparts while two matches went to tiebreakers, including No. 1 Wendy Miller (Roseville, MN/Saint Joseph High School) (Roseville, Minn./Saint Joseph High School) who lost 6-7, 6-4, 7-10. The only singles match taken by NWC was by No. 3 Johanna Alex (San Pedro, Calif./Homeschool) (Crete, Greece/Homeschool), allowing her opponent to only take three games, winning in 6-1, 6-2 fashion.

No. 1 doubles team Miller and Alex grabbed the second win for Northwestern, beating their opponents 8-4. The Eagles No. 2 team Rebecca Leland (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central) (Bricelyn, Minn./United South Central High School) and Dana Smith (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka High School)  battled through a 7-9 loss, giving NWC a final score of 2-7 for the night.
