MINNEAPOLIS—The Northwestern College men's tennis team recorded its second straight win with an 8-1 conference defeat over North Central University.
In singles, No. 1 Stephen Fread (Minneapolis, MN/Osseo High School) (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo High School) allowed his counterpart to take only three games, winning in 6-0, 6-3 fashion while No. 2 Jeremiah Schneck (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) (Fairbault, Minn./Fairbault High School) beat his opponent 6-2, 6-2. With a perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweep was No. 3 Joshua Fread (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo High School). The lone loss for the Eagles was No. 4 Logan Fischer (Silver Bay, MN/Homeschool)'s (Silver Bay, Minn./Homeschool) loss in the third set, going 6-4, 3-6, 8-10.
NWC won all of its doubles matches, as No. 1 partners Schneck and Stephen Fread (Minneapolis, MN/Osseo High School) won 8-2 while No. 2 Joshua Fread and Fischer pulled off an 8-0 victory.
Northwestern, now tied at second in conference, will head to Morris, Minn. on April 14 to compete against the University of Minnesota-Morris at 3 p.m.
